You guys, we just had a quick Spring Break getaway at Lake LBJ and it was exactly what we needed! LBJ is my happy place. It is where we got married, spend summers with friends and feels like home.
My parents are wrapping up an addition to their home for my grandmother who is coming to live with them. The extra space is complete with an upstairs bunk room for all the little people. It sleeps 10 and could not be more adorable. It was love at first sight for Ethan (top bunk + alligator sheets = 3-year-old heaven). Each bunk has its own nightlight and USB plugs for gadgets. #bunkroomgoals!
This was also the first married visit for my bro and his sweet new wife, Addison. Ava is obsessed with her (like the rest of us) and grins for days when they are together. In case you missed their beautiful wedding highlights, you can catch up here.
Anyway, the weather was so springy and pretty typical for Texas – a thunderstorm the first night, then a gorgeous sunny warm day, followed by cooler weather to top off the weekend. Needless to say, we were outside as much as possible; fishing and lounging on the back porch.
The best part of any trip home though is always my mom’s cooking. I like to tell myself that I could cook at her caliber, as if it’s an inherited trait. But let’s be real, it would take more than a prayer and the time I currently devote to perfecting the art for me to get there. Maybe one day. Until then, I’ll enjoy her culinary creations,, like this stuffed poblano. She seriously needs to write a cookbook!
So, if you ever find yourself wondering what to do in Marble Falls, here are my absolute must (besides Nana’s house, obviously):
